but his D30 front axle limits him to 4.88

He tried a V8, after shattering a drive shaft, he decided he didn't want to find out what broke next.

488's willl be the lowest he can go and it will run fine.

I have 4.88's on my 4banger with 31's, and I love it.. that being said I'm with joe on this one I would want at least 5.13's with 35's (but like he said the dana 30 can only go 4.88's).. But i think it would be manageable with 35's and 4.88's, I mean either way you do it your still going to be underpowered
